BHP Billiton is a multinational mining, metals and petroleum company, based in Melbourne Australia, with offices in London, Houston, Santiago, Perth, Brisbane, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Shanghai. It is among the top producer of commodities including iron ore, coal, copper and uranium and the world’s largest mining company. Created in 2001 through the merger of the Australian Broken Hill Proprietary Company Limited, and the Anglo-Dutch Billiton plc, they are a Dual Listed Company with two parent companies: BHP Billiton Ltd, listed on the London Stock Exchange and a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index and BHP Billiton Plc, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
